Update #3

God help us when Emmalyn learns to walk...she's crammed into the tiniest space imaginable and yet she still manages to squirm and twist enough to elude the ultrasound heart rate monitors.  Because they have Amanda on medication to speed up contractions, both mother and daughter require continuous monitoring, so its crucial that they get some sort of sensor on Emmalyn.

Because of this, momma had to have her first procedure to insert a fetal heart monitor in utero as well as take care of a few other things that were pretty painful.  She's taken her first dose of stadol to help with the pain.  It's a narcotic, so she only gets one, maybe two more doses before her body builds a tolerance.

The most recent check showed 2cm which is no change from the first.  Another measure of birth readiness is the height of the baby from a specific point on her pelvis and we've improved in that category.  An increase in pitocin (induces labor) dosage will probably occur in the next half hour.
