Momma's contractions have been picking up significantly since the initial dose of pitocin. The anesthesiologist (thanks to Google for the spelling) gave her an epidural to manage the pain and so far she has been much more relaxed and they have been able to increase the pitocin dosage.
The current challenge is stabilizing Amanda's blood pressure from the drop caused by the epidural and keeping the baby's heart rate up. It's proving difficult to find a good position for both mother and baby. But they have Amanda on some light oxygen and she's currently 4cm (out of 10) and the baby has dropped to "zero position" (the goal is 4), so things are moving in the right direction.
